City Council open to the public on public policy: no method call solidarity with the citizens
E 'with great regret that I address to the press, to make this my total disapproval and protest against the method by which the Fig. m President of the Municipal Council of Santa Croce Camerina, Dr. John Baron, has called the City Council open to the public for Friday, December 18 at about 10:00, which has become the agenda of security and order PUBLIC.
An important issue that affects the peaceful living of citizens can not be discussed in morning session time since experiencing poor participation by many citizens who, finding her place of work are unable to attend; penalized are also the guys who can not attend the meeting because they are in school and certainly those who are more likely to move, because this tense climate of fear and this is a long time and brings the boys to desert the streets and to emigrate centers to proliferate and / or worry (eg. Ragusa, Modica) or burrow into the house and never come out.
They remember the times, not far away, where children and young people came out peacefully and via Giacomo Matteotti, Via Mount Caramel, the Town Hall and via the same square Vittorio Emanuele was crowded, the premises were open until Later, there were still pubs in town and there was an atmosphere of peace and harmony general.
This situation of insecurity and fear persists for several years and multiple episodes of violence have been passed to the record, but the straw that broke the camel's back and led the President of the City Council to convene a 'open meeting, were the various thefts a few weeks ago and which affected the way Paganini, Strauss and Toscanini in the maritime village of Punta Secca and whose citizens have made known to the Mayor, the Public Prosecutor of the Court of Ragusa, the Prefect, the Questor and the Police.
