The Centre "Don Ciccio Salvino" of Mendicino (CS), in collaboration with the Film "Space Court" FEDIC affiliate, the parish of San Nicola in Bari Mendicino and other organizations and associations, is organizing the 3rd International Festival short film called "Short Mendicino, to be held in Mendicino (CS) from 28 December 2008-5 January 2009. This year the event is inserted in the circuit "FEDIC D'ORO" . In addition to the Documentary and Short Film, the Feature Film Competition is open to emerging filmmakers reserved OBJECTIVES
"Mendicino Corto" aims to promote and enhance the film industry with particular emphasis on research, testing, production of young authors and / or independent.
SHORT
1. REQUIREMENTS
a) The theme is open, participation is open to anyone who complies with this regulation. Not be taken into account explicitly works to contain offensive / defamatory and advertising works.
b) Participation is free. Each author may submit up to 3 works (in language or with subtitles in Italian) for a maximum of 20 minutes (including titles and tail). The works entered in the competition may be unpublished or submitted to other competitions both in Italy and abroad.
2. REGISTRATION
a) All materials must be received no later than October 31, 2008, by priority mail or registered mail simple:

b) The envelope must contain: the registration form (this form can be downloaded from the festival site http: / / www.mendicinocorto.it/ and must be completed for each work. The works must be submitted in DVD or VHS, one copy for each work. will not be accepted other media for sending the photographs. On the cover and on the back of the media must be clearly and legibly: the title, duration and name of the author.
c) Optionally send the script, storyboard, biography and filmography, photo of the director and actors.
3. SELECTION
a) The courts will be selected according to the information received by the participants themselves in the sections of the genre: Comedy - Drama - Comedy - School-Social and Environment. Among the short films submitted, the jury made up of film critics, film experts, directors, actors and representatives from the world of entertainment, art and culture will evaluate the works selected for the competition. The selected films will be screened on days starting from 28 December 2008-4 January 2009. The jury reserves the right to invalidate some votes in the event that is observed some irregularities.
b) In addition to the technical panel again this year the courts will be judged by a jury that evening to attend the evening screenings valued accordingly.
c) All the participating films, as in previous years, will enrich the film library owned by the same research center and made available to all those people who want to enrich their cultural non-profit.

Si tiene a precisare che il festival essendo a cavallo tra la fine del 2008 e l’inizio del 2009, il Premio “Fedic d’Oro” sarà inserito nella compilation 2009 ed il vincitore sarà in lizza per l’ UNICA 2010. Premi previsti per i primi tre classificati oltre , se necessario altri riconoscimenti. I film dovranno avere la durata inferiore ai 30 minuti (titoli compresi)

Anche quest’anno, a chiusura dei Festeggiamenti del cinquecentenario dalla morte del grande Santo calabrese San Francesco di Paola, l’Associazione Salvino ripropone il concorso per la realizzazione di corti o documentari riguardanti la vita spirituale di questo grande Santo.
Premio Lungometraggio per Registi Esordienti
E perché dopo il Cortometraggio in seno al Festival, non provare con il lungometraggio?
Ci sono molti giovani registi che dopo avere avuto esperienza con il corto si sono cimentati anche con il lungometraggio, facendo quindi il salto di qualità nell’ambiente del cinema. Molti di questi, sono sconosciuti al grande pubblico perché non hanno avuto una grande possibilità di restare più giorni nelle sale cinematografiche essendo gli stessi retribuiti per la realizzazione dai fondi statali e precisamente dal Ministero, Direzione generale dello Spettacolo. E proprio per questo motivo che riteniamo indispensabile that these films are touted to have the same value. And 'forbidden to make a profit. b) By entering the Contest, each author is responsible for the content of his work, and explicitly allows the sponsoring organization of the International Short Film Festival Mendicino namely the Centro Studi "Don Ciccio Salvino" to screen the works presented, and organization of or participation in other festivals, exclusively for cultural purposes, for printing and not for profit.
c) Please note that with the full acceptance of these Regulations, the author authorizes the Research Center of Don Ciccio Salvino Mendicino under Law 196/2003 and variations, the use of personal data for purposes related to the competition and related events.
d) The copies will not be returned.
